A bold Statement…well, maybe. But it’s absolutely possible.
In any kind of navigation—whether steering a ship or your business–slight course corrections can yield dramatic results. There’s a predominant belief that as a business owner I have to make large wholesale changes to some element of my business to get large wholesale results. Not True!
Something small, like the text in your marketing message or even the colors and layout of a landing page can have a significant impact. This is also true of the things we do as business owners every day. As creatures of habit, we have a tendency to focus on similar activities every day…often the ones with the least resistance or the ones we like the most. But guaranteed there are things we are doing every day or NOT doing every day in our business that if we changed slightly could have big impact.
As we gear up for what could be your best year ever, if you took some small action on the following reflective questions you too could quite possibly make some significant enhancements to what you currently do. I challenge you to take one of these on starting tomorrow.
- What is the one thing I believe is holding me back in my business?
- What is the one thing that if I started would move my business forward?
- What is the one thing that if I sopped would move my business forward?
These can be hard questions. Hard to ask. Not necessarily hard to answer. Most of us know the answer. As a small business owner our enterprises are a reflection of us. They’re a mirror image of everything we’ve been thinking and doing…or not thinking and doing.
My challenge to you is that you use the balance of the year to reflect and make the often small, critical changes that need to be made.
